A Nassau is the most popular golf betting format. It splits an 18-hole round into three separate bets: front 9, back 9, and overall. Each segment has its own wager, so you have three chances to win (or lose). A "$5 Nassau" means $5 on the front, $5 on the back, and $5 on the overall — $15 total at risk before presses.
The press is what makes a Nassau exciting. When a player falls behind by a set amount (usually 2-down), they can press — starting a new side bet from the current hole to the end of the segment. Presses can be automatic or manual, and they stack. A hotly contested Nassau can generate multiple presses, each with its own payout.
Settle Up Golf handles all the Nassau math automatically. Configure your front/back/overall wagers, enable net or gross scoring, toggle presses on or off, and the app tracks every segment and press in real time. No more arguments over who owes what at the 19th hole.
Nassau works for individual stroke play or 2v2 best ball teams. Combine it with Skins or other side bets to stack multiple games in the same round. New to the app? Start with the round setup guide to learn the basics.
